Toke Nygaard attended Designskolen Kolding and The Danish Design School focusing on “new media” and graphic design. During the Early Days he worked for Danish web design front runner Araneum and later helped start up the Oven London offices in Shoreditch. During the late 90’s he founded and ran the ground-breaking online design portal Kaliber10000 along with fellow Dane Michael Schmidt.

The two later moved from London to the smoldering dot.com ruins of San Francisco in 2001 to set up their own design shop, Cuban Council, with code wizzard Michael Buzzard. During this time he lectured at Stanford, Hyper Island and California College of the Arts.

Toke is currently creative director at Cuban Council New York, handcrafting websites and mobile apps with his multi-talented team for clients such as NASA, Apple, Adobe, BBC, Suicidegirls, Google, Fox Mobile, Facebook, Francis Coppola and Tom Waits.
